I recently invested in a couple of Digital Harinezumi lo-fi cameras and the footage from which is the closest you can get to faking the Super 8 look. The clip below features random test footage from the 2011 edition Digital Harinezumi Guru camera with real Super 8 at the end. I recently purchased The Digital Harinezumi 1 on ebay and although it has less features, it is a slightly better match again to authentic Super 8 footage.
Super 8 is the ideal alternative for people who don’t like modern wedding videos. The camera is discreet and does not record sound, so little equipment is needed and this means less distraction for you and your wedding party.
Wedding video highlights of wedding in Govilon and Cwrt Bleddyn. This was my first ever wedding shooting entirely with a DSLR – Canon 5dMK11. It was very challenging because it only records 12 minutes at a time, but I was saved with my backup camera. I used just the standard kit lens (24mm-135mm) and a monopod. For the next wedding I have upgraded my monopod gear, but also want one of those small glidetracks. I could do with some prime lenses too! (£!!!)
